This years graduating class are currently being charged £20 each for the two guests allowed to attend our graduation ceremonies, if able to get hold of a third ticket this again costs another £20. While this in itself is ridiculous considering the number of universities only charging for the third guest the University of Nottingham is now charging an additional £12 each for a maximum of two guests to watch a streaming of the ceremony from a neighbouring auditorium.

It is unacceptable the university are charging so much for friends and family to watch us graduate. A large number of other universities also stream graduation ceremonies but they do this online and for free!

We are calling for the University to introduce free online streaming of this years 2015 graduation ceremonies so as not to discriminate those from lower income families, large families, international students or those with health conditions stopping them being able to travel.

With other extortionate charges for gown hire, accommodation, meals, attire and the graduation ball these additional charges are unnecessary and absurd. The least the university could do for the first class of students graduating with a minimum of £27,000 debt is to allow our friends and family to see us graduate online no matter the circumstances.

Please sign this petition in the hope of getting the University to acknowledge our opinions and feelings, justify their reasons for all costs charged and at the very least introduce free streaming.
