Due to the national pandemic of Covid-19 The University of Louisiana at Lafayette was forced to shut down a few weeks ago in order to prevent possibly spreading the virus amongst one another and then to our families. We have since converted to a strictly online-based learning style education. Apparently there are some students proclaiming they are having an enormous difficulty making the transition and wish to have the university implement a Pass-Fail grading system. Pass-Fail grading system will not affect your GPA. However if you do well this semester you will not get credit for it. Your GPA will not go up or go down with a Pass-Fail system. It seems highly unfair to the students that have really struggled and persevered through this trying time and are doing well. It is unfair to those who have been doing well and hoped to raise their GPA at the end of the semester with their grades, a Pass-Fail system would prevent that. Transferring to the Pass-Fail system will possibly affect all students wishing to pursue a graduate school education. Please sign this petition if you believe in this cause.
