With the announcement that all teaching and assessments have moved online, many students have now left halls of residence. With the increasing concern of the spread of COVID-19, many students will not be returning to reside in accommodation. Despite this, third term rent is required, whether or not residence is taken up and for many students this rent will be a cash loss. This is why I am calling for third semester on campus accommodation fees to be cancelled.
