Tena S started this petition to University of Guelph and

The University of Guelph and Guelph-Humber, have mandated proof of vaccination for ALL STUDENTS by October 15th, even for those not attending classes on campus. As a result, the University has announced that these students will be deregistered, as, according to the University of Guelph, are considered non-compliant students. This “school-enforced mandate” is in violation of our rights pursuant to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom as the school is essentially stating that they have LEGAL access to our private medical information. Not only is this in violation of our Charter Rights, but it is also ethically and morally wrong.

No student should not & will not tolerate being coerced or threatened into accepting any type of injection, nor should any student be prevented from achieving academic goals for withholding consent to any medical interventions. Additionally, it is unacceptable that students are receiving emails that are encouraging them to "withdraw" from the university because of fear-based public health edicts.

We commend all the schools with a desire to ‘take action’ to ‘help flatten the curve’, or ‘stop the spread’ as we too share this goal. Again, the University of Guelph and Guelph-Humber cannot legally deny or prevent students from obtaining an education simply because we do not consent to medical interventions and coercion and your “vaccine mandate ” and blatant disregard for our right to choose which medical procedures we may undertake. ALL citizens of Canada are protected under the medical and legal ethics of express informed consent, and are entitled to the full protections guaranteed under:

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982)  Section 2a, 2b, 7, 8, 9, 15.
Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights (2005)
Nuremberg Code (1947)
Helsinki Declaration (1964, Revised 2013) Article 25, 26

By signing this petition, we hope that academic institutions will acknowledge and be open-minded that this is an ongoing concern among students, parents, and faculty members. We all believe and know that academic institutions are meant to be a safe environment for everyone. We strongly hope that the University of Guelph will reconsider its unprecedented policies.
