University of Glasgow have a duty to their final year, graduating students to provide alternative arrangements for a graduation ceremony. A collective “celebration” day for all graduates is not an acceptable solution. After the struggles these few months will bring trying to obtain our degrees, we deserve our individual moment to step up in our gowns and be given our degrees more than ever. While other universities are postponing, why are University of Glasgow not doing their utmost to provide us with a ceremony? Callously announced on social media rather than direct contact with students, we see the University’s actions as unacceptably inconsiderate at this already troublesome time. Please sign this petition to hold the university to account and ask them to change their plans to give us a real graduation day. We deserve gowns, we deserve a procession, we deserve a picture with our degree.  At the very least we deserve more clarity on what provisions are in place.
