In light of recent events with COVID-19 there is a lot of uncertainty about the future of this year’s degree show.There has been no official announcement but there is strong suggestion that it may cancelled and assessment looks likely to go ahead without delay/postponement.

We realise the uncertainty isn’t the fault of anyone and these are truly exceptional circumstance that are affecting everyone’s way of life. However, to cancel it out right we feel discredits our work & years of study.

For many the cancelation of degree show would be a devastating blow as is it the culmination and celebration of years of study. It can launch a career and creates a huge amount of exposure. Therefore we feel very strongly about the importance of still having a physical degree show. Furthermore with the university currently being closed there is a range of facilities we no longer have access to impacting our ability to create a body of work we are proud of. 

Circumstances changing daily we understand this petition may lose its relevance. However we hope it will capture the care and passion many have for out studies and can at least be a stimulus for dialogue with the university to explore other avenues
