Help us fight dirty tactics at UCT
Dear Defenders of Academic Freedom at UCT
The anti-Israel lobby is continuing its relentless pursuit of their hateful boycott agenda at UCT. This includes some new underhanded tactics. Last week, the movement sent an unauthorised and unsolicited email to the Senate members, claiming that Jews supported the boycott motion and was signed by a fake person with a Jewish surname. In addition, the anti-Israel lobby deliberately campaigned wearing South African Union of Jewish Students T-shirts in order to appear that they represent Jewish positions on campus. These dirty tricks and misrepresentations are a sign of the increasing desperation of the campaigners and their attempts to portray the Jewish community as being behind their malicious agenda.
Official Jewish community bodies who represent the Jewish community in South Africa and on university campus have condemned these distortions and have repudiated these assertions, included below.

Meanwhile, the petition supporting academic freedom continues to grow, having reached nearly 65 000 signatories.
Help us fight back against the underhanded tactics of the boycott movement, by supporting the campaign to host two deserving UCT science students on an invaluable 3-month research scholarship at Israel's Weitzmann Institute of Science, which is gathering steam. It has already attracted more than R50 000 in donations, and that amount is being matched by the Institute. Help us fight BDS, support the campaign today!
