1.      Develop a system that will enable the efficient distribution of Universal Basic Income (UBI).

2.      Conduct a pilot program to distribute a small amount of UBI to all adult citizens in the United States.

Why UBI?

The rapid advancement of technology and automation is reshaping the economy. While these innovations increase productivity and wealth, they may also reduce the demand for human labor and increase income inequality. A well-designed UBI system would ensure that all Americans benefit from these advancements, promoting economic stability and shared prosperity.

The benefits of implementing UBI include:

·         Addressing Income Inequality: The poorest Americans would experience the most significant relative increase in income, helping to close the wealth gap and foster a healthier economy.

·         Enhancing Liberty and Market Efficiency: Unlike complex welfare programs that impose restrictions on recipients, UBI provides direct assistance without discouraging work or entrepreneurship.

·         Reducing Bureaucracy: A straightforward UBI system can reduce the demand for means-tested social programs that often create work disincentives.

This petition does not advocate for any specific funding mechanism or policy details but seeks to begin the process of developing a sustainable, efficient, and equitable UBI system. By piloting a UBI program, the government can assess its feasibility, economic impacts, and necessary adjustments before considering broader implementation.
