My name is Spencer & I have just turned 12 years old. Since I was very little I have loved observing & learning about nature. I started drawing & photographing what I was seeing to help me find out more about all the amazing things in nature. With my photographs and artworks I hope to teach others about how important the environment is for us and the future of our planet that we call home. 

Last year (2021) I was a Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots Mini Grant Winner which was funded by the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation for a project in the Noosa Biosphere Reserve.

As part of my Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots project I have created this amazing educational calendar about the wallum and its inhabitants. This calendar features my photographs with facts and information along the way. The aim of the calendar is that by the end of the year you will know more about the Sunshine Coast’s amazing wallum heathland than when you started. The money I raise from my calendar sales will go back into protecting the Wallum & the species that call this place home. I hope to inspire everyone to Observe, Learn & Protect their local environment like I do.

When you buy a calendar online you can nominate to pay for an extra calendar for Kids in our local community. I will then give these calendars to the local youth in our community.

Mummy & I have been giving some calendars to Kids like me in our local community. It makes them happy & me too. It’s really important that kids know that people care about the environment and care about their future and this is a good way of showing it.

Through education & raising awareness around the plight of this highly threatened ecosystem together we can make a difference.
