Hello Everyone it is Spencer & Mummy (Maxine),

Spencer is overwhelmed with the support he has received with his petition & sends Everyone a Huge Big Thank-you.

Incredibly we now have over 25,000 signatures.

If it wasn’t for all of you his voice & the plight of the Glossy Black-Cockatoos in our area would never have been heard.

We have been reaching out to Uniting Church and they’re aware of this petition but haven’t made any statements about their proposed developments.

Spencer is speaking out for his generation & future generations who deserve to see what we all see today. He has never lost sight of the importance of what he is doing, his love of nature pushes him & us to not give up. With your help, Spencer hopes to make the Uniting Church see what he sees, what all our children see.

Spencer & I have spoken to lots of children like him, that can’t understand why the Uniting Church wants to destroy our beautiful Glossy Black-Cockatoos home. They understand the significance of this loss & are so thankful that Spencer is trying to stop this destruction for all of their futures. If only the Uniting Church could see the sadness in their eyes.

Our Children understand the seriousness of habitat destruction & are relying on the adult decision makers to make the right decision for all of their futures.

Spencer is now asking if you can help again by:

1. Once again sharing his petition with friends and family

2. Writing personally to the Uniting Church and ask them to protect the Glossy Black habitat at Sunrise Beach & be true to their religious belief of looking after our planet - all creatures great and small.

Please attention the Moderator & President so the letters reach the right people. And if you can email us a copy: savesunriseglossies@gmail.com

Spencer believes the words in the Uniting Church Australia’s brochure "For the Sake of the Planet" make a lot of sense: “It makes good economic & political sense to spend money ensuring the long term wellbeing of our natural world - there can be no security for humanity without a healthy ecosystem.” Spencer agrees, that is why he is asking the Uniting Church not to destroy this critical habitat that the Glossy Black-Cockatoos & many other specialised animals and plants rely on for their survival.

Please keep spreading the word, sharing the petition & enjoy our new video on Facebook or on Instagram to help the Glossy Black-Cockatoos.

The video has been made possible because of Paul Hilton an International award-winning conservation photojournalist, who shares Spencer’s passion to stop habitat loss in a country that should no better. He has delivered an amazing emotive video to show the plight of the Sunrise Glossies, if this destruction is not stopped. He gives us a birds eye view of what habitat destruction looks like for our Glossies & all the other creatures that live in these habitats that are being destroyed. Habitat can’t be replaced no matter how many trees we plant, it is not sustainable. A huge thank-you to Paul.

A big thank-you to our awesome independent Newspaper Noosa News for sharing Spencer’s story. Helping to get the message out to our community & beyond about our Glossies plight.
A big thank to our local radio ABC Sunshine Coast Mornings with Sheridan Stewart for helping Spencer reach a wider audience.
A big thank-you to all the Environmental groups & local businesses supporting Spencer’s petition & getting the word out.
A big thank-you to our Artistic community for backing the Glossies & future generations.

Thanks to everyone who has signed Spencer’s petition to help the Glossies.

Spencer & Mummy
