In the mid 2010’s, the United States Military began cracking down on sexual assault within it’s ranks.  During this time, with much pressure on decision makers, the General Court Marshal system began “Throwing The Book” at innocent men and women to further the agenda of covering up their failure to control sexual assaults within the military branches.

From 2010-Present day, there have been countless cases of of people being thrown in prison with maximum sentences, sex offender registry, dishonorable discharge, revocation of VA benefits, families destroyed, careers ended and in worst case scenario, suicide of the falsely accused.  This is happening because the Military court system is handing out maximum sentences with zero evidence and/or throwing away evidence that would prove innocence.

My closest friend who served by my side in Afghanistan was dating another soldier who claimed to be single.  Unbeknownst to him, she was engaged.  When her fiancé found out about the cheating, he filed rape charges against my friend.

He was arrested, booked and went up against a General Court Marshal.  Upon trial, all witnesses were released, all phone and text evidence of consensual relationship status was thrown away, and with no more than the accusation from a jaded fiancé, he was charged with rape, forced into maximum sentence in Military Prison, registered as a violent sexual offender and has had his life ruined.

While we cannot ignore the issue of sexual assault in the Military, we also cannot let the great men and women who were falsely imprisoned as statistics to show that the military is cracking down, have their lives forever ruined.

Put yourself in my friends’ shoes and ask yourself what you would do.  We need to fight for these men and women and send a message to the Military that they cannot use scapegoats to cover up for their systemic failures.

Please help restore honor to these falsely accused heroes.
