This painting honors Clyde W. Tombaugh the discoveror of the Planet Pluto and the New Horizons Spacecraft.He was born in Streator ,Illinois on Feb .4,1906 . He discovered the Planet Pluto on Feb.19,1930 while working as an Astronomer at Lowell University in Flagstaff, Arizona. On July 14, 2015 The New Horizons Spacecraft which is the first spacecraft to the planet ,did it's historical flyby with some of Mr.Tombaugh's ashes aboard the spacecraft . After attending the July 4th firework's celebration in Streator, Illinois. I ,John Kettman , The artist , created this historic moment in my painting .
