For decades the USPS has been using outdated, inefficient and dangerous delivery vehicles to deliver mail. The program to replace this aging fleet (ngdv) has been in process since 2015 with no winner being announced and delays taking place causing millions to be wasted and the usps to be further scrutinized. Out of the 3 finalists remaining, only one is fully EV, made in the USA and has all state certifications while meeting all the needs of the postal services request for new vehicles, workhorse. President Biden has promised to electrify all government fleets and the time to act is now! Giving this contract to the only viable candidate would create jobs, help the environment, save the usps and tax payers money, and pave a new path for the USPS to become a more sustainable entity. Carriers and the American people deserve to have mail delivered timely and in an environmentally and economically beneficial way. The time to act and give workhorse the contract is now.
