We are a global society...that is comprised of carnivores...vegetarians and vegans. For those of us who are carnivorous...we understand that it is a part of our humanistic nature. However, we also understand that the animals that we consume, do not have to be bred....housed and slaughtered in an inhumane and barbaric manner. The "festival " in China should bring shame and terror to every decent human being across the globe. It is most irrehensible and sadistic. Even those of us who consume meat...understand that...it is not always what you do, it is how you go about doing it. The methods of slaughter within the United States is just as questionable. As a global society...we need to bring back an urgent sense of empathy and humanity...in regards to the worldwide breeding...housing and slaughtering methods of animals. The blatant disregard and disrespect for the pain of other living creatures must not stand!
