As the callous destruction of our bodies continues unabated...
As the fires of protest engulf our cities...
As our streets echo with screams for change...

We must not be distracted by the clown show of politics,
but remain focused and unyielding in our march for justice.

And as we march for change, we will all need a SHIELD...
We demand Congress give us that SHIELD:

Standards – Establish nationwide equal rules governing all police stops, searches, restraints, questionings and arrests.
Humanity – Set universal requirements for all police training, addressing stress management, burnout and psychological bias.
Information – Build and maintain public databases of all violent police actions at both the individual and precinct levels.
Enforcement – Create independent elected citizen panels to review local police actions and give them the power to remove bad cops!
Leverage – Empower communities to swiftly remove chiefs of police and police commissioners via local recall elections.
Demilitarization – Stop giving the police military-style rifles. Stop giving them tanks. Police are guardians, not warriors.
