Arms create wars, and systematic multilateral disarmament ends them. It has not yet been tried because the militarists are in charge. Yet a popular petition signed by more than half the world's population can democratically require world disarmament. All states cut military expenditure by 10% a year for a decade and it is gone. It needs proper policing, the end to arms production, totally open inspection, the elimination of terrorism and the rule of law. These can happen. Militarism causes death, destruction, poverty, global warning. It is the biggest failed experiment on the planet. Let's end it in the next  decade, before more wars are planned.
