Update on the Burundi Crisis

After Ban Ki-moon and that of AU leaders visits to Burundi, it seems like there is hope to save lives. At least we now expect human rights activists observing the situation. However, UN must not believe in this a 100 per cent and should continue use wisdom and analyze the situation on daily basis to ensure observers are not only sent in big cities and villages are forgotten. We might remember that United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR) was created on October 5, 1993 and sent to Rwanda but one million perished from April 1994 to July 1994. If these observers are not armed, they are unable to intervene when there is urgency to do so which becomes a puzzle. Thank you for your contribution and commitment to Peace. Immaculee Mukantaganira
