United Nations: Stop Islamic Terrorists From Kidnapping Underage Christian Girls

The Issue

On the night of April 14, 2014 Islamic Jihadist and terrorist organization Boko Haram targeted a Government Secondary School in Chibok, a mostly Christian village in Northern Nigeria, and kidnapped 276 girls between the ages of 16 and 18 who were in their final year of school.

Not long after the violent kidnapping, Boko Haram’s leader Abubakar Shekau released a video in which he claimed to have the underaged group of Christian girls in his possession. He said he intended to force them to convert to Islam, and then marry them off with a bride price of $12.50 to members of his terrorist organization. He insisted that Christian girls as young as nine years of age were suitable for marriage and should not be educated.

Abubakar Shekau has kept to his threats. Most of the girls have been converted to Islam and forced into marriage with their captors. The young girls who refused to convert to Islam or marry their captors have been found gang raped and half-dead with their battered and mutilated bodies tied to trees in their communities.

Since the kidnapping on April 14, 2014, as if to send a message of their supremacy to the world, Boko Haram and its various brother and sister organizations have kidnapped thousands of more underage Christian girls. It is obvious this is a despicable trend that the Islamic terrorists have resurrected and will continue to thoroughly exploit.

We are alarmed by the slow response and meek acceptance of this occurrence and practice by the United Nations. They are yet to develop a strategic plan for all their member countries suffering Islamic Insurgency with an aim to send a strong message to terrorist organizations that targeting underage Christian girls, kidnapping and forcing them into marriage with terrorists is an abhorrent crime.

Pope Francis spoke plainly about the brutality. He stated that: "We are witnessing a phenomenon of terrorism of previously unimaginable proportions. Many of our brothers and sisters are persecuted and have had to leave their homes, in a brutal manner, too. This unjust situation demands, beyond our constant prayers, an adequate response from the part of the international community as well."

Please sign this petition to urge the United Nations to take the first crucial step and commission a report on the current statistics of underage Christian girls at risk of being abducted by terrorists in countries currently suffering Islamic Insurgency, and then develop a strategic plan for those countries to implement to help protect these girls lives. Should it be implemented, you just might save the life of an underage Christian girl!

We also ask that everyone who reads this petition makes February 14, 2015 ten months after these young girls were kidnapped #RememberAChibokGirl day. Please spread the word on social media with #RememberAChibokGirl as you pray for their safe return to their families.
