The world is a place for all of God's creations. Humans, animals, plants alike.
If that is the case, why all the discrimination between men and women? In many parts of the world, the society is still patriarchal, which essentially means that women have no say whatsoever in the workings of the society. Even in modern democracies, it is taken for granted that men are greater in stature, capabilities and potential than women.
Which, in my opinion, is utterly ridiculous.
I was born in one of the most influential countries of the world- India. Even here, despite all the speeches about equality, justice and secularism, the sex ratio is 800 girls to 1000 boys in the rural areas. Rape is commonplace nowadays. Women have no place in the world. No safety, no security, no rights.
WhenI was born, my grandparents wanted to get me married off as soon as I turned sixteen. Now, at the age of fifteen, with one book of mine already published, I've got them convinced that women are no less than men.
Why should we women bow down any longer?
Isn't it time we fight back?
Isn't it time we stand up for ourselves?
Isn't it time that women and feminists all over the world come together and try to eradicate this social evil?
