Northern Right whales are facing extinction. They were targeted by whalers because they were curious and inquisitive and would come up to the whaler’s boat. From a population of more than 35,000 , they are now down to 400 with fewer than 100 breeding females. Although most countries have now made whaling illegal, Japan, Norway and Iceland still practice whaling and put these amazing creatures at risk.

If we can get them to ban whaling, Northern Right whales may be able to bounce back.
