The United Nations is a symbol for peace and the bringing together of all nations and peoples that live on this planet. It is an affront to have paintings and images of someone who hid his Nazi past, adorn the walls of this important organization. It is also shameful that children and students from all over the world, who visit the UN headquarters, should see images of someone who was once a member of the Nazi party and who was an active part of the Nazi destruction of Europe. Having his image on display at the UN sends the wrong message to everyone who respects this organization. His image and all public references in UN materials/websites should be removed to maintain and strengthen the commitment of the United Nations to world peace and universal justice. Maintaining pictures of an ex-Nazi is in conflict with these noble values.
