Petition to resolve school dissolution & closure crisis
The Issue
We are charging the State of Michigan and the United States of America with blatantly violating our Human Rights, as it relates to the erasure of the Inkster Public School System. Your direct involvement (referring to the U.N.) is necessary due to the gross incompetence at the local, state, and federal level.
We, the undersigned are requesting assistance from the United Nations in response to the dissolution of the Inkster Public School System (Inkster, MI) in 2013; however, it extends to other communities with similar demographics across the United States that have been impacted negatively by dissolution and/or mass school closings.
Possible solutions recommended but are not limited to the following: restoring the Inkster Public School System, funds allocated for specific resources in the community/communities (ex. trade and vocational programs, fine arts: music, creating writing, arts & crafts...), job-training, state of the art media center(s), etc.), hefty fines/sanctions for all parties involved in the dissolution and mass school closings. Ultimately, the masses (the people) will weigh heavily on determining the best solutions.
