Why this petition matters

Started by Katoikos

In view of the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation on 24 February 2022, the signatories to this appeal, people and civil society organizations from around the world, declare and demand:

  • Russia has illegally invaded Ukraine.
  1. President Putin and Russian government, you are responsible for the invasion.
  2. Stop the war and withdraw from Ukraine now!
  3. Solve your differences peacefully, through the United Nations and such.
  4. Other countries and the world, help the people of Ukraine inside and outside the country with humanitarian assistance.
  5. Imposed sanctions should target the Russian leadership, while those affecting the Russian people broadly should be lifted as soon as possible.
  6. The aggressors (of this and all invasions) should be taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
  7. Russia should pay reparations to Ukraine for the destruction it caused with this invasion.
  8. And should compensate other affected countries too.
  9. Solidarity with the brave Russian people protesting against the war despite the government’s suppression of dissent.
  10. The European continent needs a new pact of mutual security, peaceful coexistence, cooperation and good governance.
  11. Europeans should make peace across the continent and cooperate on shared problems, like climate change and COVID-19; be an example and never again the source of a global confrontation.
