How would you feel if your babies were taken from you, abused by the government you were supposed to trust, and majority of them never to be seen again? You babies thrown in MASS unmarked pits. To be forgotten about. Parents wondering for YEARS where their babies are. And if they came back home, they spoke an entirely different language, all your traditions were wiped away, and they were sexually, mentally, and physically abused by their teachers. They were/are traumatized.

The amount of people, the amount of CANADIANS, that do not know our own history of genocide in this country. The Prime Minister Sir John A MacDonald said PUBLICLY and ON RECORD “take the Indian out of the Indian by all means.” and “take the Indian out of the child.”

This prime minister that many have looked up to as a great leader of this country, CREATED and condoned nationwide Genocide. That is what happened at residential schools. It was GENOCIDE.

We as Canadians need Justice for the indigenous people of Canada. We need to investigate every person involved. Some people preach Justice but as soon as it is a BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Colour) community affected, suddenly it falls on deaf ears? Suddenly it’s TOO late for Justice?

I ask every single one of you to think of your children being RIPPED away from you and MAYBE being sent a piece of mail saying they died. Their body thrown in a pit with hundreds of other children. Their spirit never being laid to rest. Never to be given a proper burial. This has been going on since 1883 (officially).

I am completely disappointed in our country, and to be honest, have been for a while now. Reconciliation is dead. It’s time to get to action. We need Justice. We need this for our indigenous people.
