In 1784, the Rumi Darwaza and the Bara Imambara were built under the patronage of the Nawab of Awadh Asaf-Ud-daula in the city of Lucknow, the current capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The city became one of the most influential cultural places known across the world and still is as of today along with being an amazing tourist destination. The glorious architecture of the monuments attracts thousands of tourists not just from across the country but also from around the globe.

The people of the city would want the landmark to get the tag it deserves and be registered in the books of UNESCO as a world heritage site.

This petition seeks support from the Government of India and UNESCO to declare the Rumi Darwaza and the Bara Imambara complex as a world heritage site.
