Hello Everyone,

The Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) has incinerated three Muslim victims of the COVID-19 so far against the determination of the families of the deceased, the community and political leaders representing the Muslim community. As well as, It is against the guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO Guidelines on COVID-19 Deceased in 2020).

This activity of the GOSL is completely against an established custom of Muslim tradition, which does not confute with the science of burial of virus infected deceased, and the Abrahamic religions followed by the Christians and the Jews too.

Though, the GOSL is uncompromising on the decision and continues the same as per its own circular amended on biased view while the WHO guideline clearly allows the burial of COVID-19 victims and despite the objection of the Muslim and the sympathizers from the Buddhist, Christian and Hindu communities. (Related Journals: Al-Jazeera | Amnesty Int. UK | DailyFT Sri Lanka |  Colombo Telegraph)

Hence, it is GOSL's disgraceful bearing that violates the prime and the religious rights of humans whoever not willing their dead bodies be cremated against their will and the practice from the religion.

Therefore, Conforming to the right of the Muslims of the country, it is herewith robustly postulated to be changed soon.
