Great White Sharks are on their way to extinction. Their numbers are declining because of trophy hunting and overfishing. The global Census of Marine Life done in 2010 stated that Great White Sharks could go extinct long before tigers. In a recent article published by The Guardian in December 2018, it was reported that the number of Great White Sharks in Queensland had drastically dropped by 92% in the last five decades.

The loss of Carcharodon carcharias, another name for the Great White Shark, will create knock-on effects that will later prove to be an environmental disaster. An ocean without Great White Sharks would lead to an ocean with an imbalanced ecosystem. This will also result in extinction of many marine species. Every second breath that we take comes from the ocean and no sharks would lead to lesser oxygen. Global warming would also escalate.

With your support, we can help these beautiful and amazing animals thrive in our ocean’s water for longer. Please sign this petition to influence the United Nations to take action on banning Great White Shark hunting globally.
