Ask the UN to regulate or ban wet markets in China and around the World.

The Issue

Wet Markets are still open and active in China at the same time as this global tragedy unfold...

In this period of Global Pandemic for the COVID-19, wet markets in China are in the news as likely the source of the coronavirus outbreak. But experts have long warned of dangers, and it's not the first time this happens.
The practice to freshly slaughter animal rather than chill them in markets is still a regular practice in many countries around the world, and it brings several questions regarding health safety and animal well being on its own.
But when this practice extends to wild animals, poor tracking and a blind eye to health regulations, like in China, that's when you have a time bomb constantly ticking until that extremely rare occurrence of a virus jumping from an animal to a human happens.
China and other countries around the world have for too long defies health standards and warnings by experts and organizations, and many western countries have looked the other side because of economic reasons.
With Billions of people in lock down, economies thrown into the worst recession in a generation and millions of people losing their jobs in a matter of days, it is time to make sure we do all we can to avoid this to happen ever again!
It is now paramount for the United Nations to start a conversation with all the countries around to world. We need them to act, imposing restrictions and bans to China and any other state around the globe where wet markets and unsafe health practices still happen if necessary, or next time could be the last one.
