Good day,
I wanted to share a word I received from the Lord to share with the UMC bishops and the UMC nonprofit Wesley who oversees the properties for UMC. I hope it blesses you and challenge you to live a much Godly life! I know it did for me! Blessings and thank you again for meeting another milestone! We have over 500 signatures. Now, next goal is 1000. Keep sharing this. Our voice count!
Help keep our church in the bloodline of my forerunners. My grandmother's great-grandfather, Henry Brevard, was a recently freed slave in 1870s. My entire family grew up in this church. My children accepted Christ in this church. 22 years ago, I was married in this church. I was taught to be the person I am today in this church. I continue to strive to do the will of the Lord because I was baptized in the Holy Spirit in this church which changed my heart away from sin. Now, as an pastor, an apostle to many, called to be sent out to the areas God grace me to labor. My forefathers legacy means so much to me because I'm also a forerunner. I too want those who come behind me to carry on the work I start for the Lord. Help me continue the work of my forefathers at Brevard Chapel. Don't erase our history! My children nor my children's children would never see again nor the community of Denver the labor of my ancestors. I want to end on this note. I prayed for guidance. This morning, I grab my Bible to read 1 Corinthians 6. I had no intentions of reading this passage, but God needed me and you to hear this Word from the Lord. As I copy and paste the Word from my phone, I find hope!!! I'm encouraged!!! My mindset has changed. We must not act as the world, but as brothers and sisters of Christ.
Lawsuits Among Believers
6 If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? 2 Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6 But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!
7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Wow, can we truly practice what we preach? I ask you to return back the church and property my forefathers started back to my bloodline. I asked you donate it back as there was no cost to you for the property when the church family decided to join the UMC when they were pitched they would have a better future. You may feel the church has no more value as a UMC church, other than prosper from the backs of freed slaves' labor and hunger for a place to worship their God, the One who sat them free from the oppressor. Please don't be my oppressor, but my brother and sister in Christ to honor my request, in peace, to donate the church and property to my community development nonprofit organization, Fresh Start-South. This will give me an opportunity to help create a new beginning for Brevard Chapel while keeping the property in the hands of Henry Brevard's bloodline. Thank you! Grace and Peace! Agape!!!
