On the 6th of July, the bail hearing for Joseph "Big Joe" Nyalungu was again postponed until the 5 August 2023.   

The hearing was postponed at the request of “Big Joe’s” defence as they declared that they were not properly prepared for the additional charges added to his charge sheet.     

Mr. Nyalungu remains in custody, but his defence did request that he be transferred to Polokwane Correctional due to difficulties in getting him some of his chronic medication in Thohoyandou where he was held till now. The court had to agree and Joseph was moved to Polokwane. This is not ideal as the accused is well connected but at least he is still in Limpopo and not in his home province of Mpumalanga.
