The Issue

We refuse to stand idly by as the Bryn Mawr College administration refuses to collaborate with students acting to stop the genocide in Gaza. Administrative unwillingness to engage with the voices of students and alumnae alike has become increasingly evident, and it is time to unite in our demands for justice.

On Saturday April 25th, BMC President Wendy Cadge gave direct orders to deploy the lower Merion Police Department onto campus against peaceful student protestors (Bi-Co News) adopting this intimidation tactic for the first time in the college’s history. These students simply protested peacefully at a Board of Trustees meeting in an effort to highlight that $5 million dollars of the college’s endowment are invested in companies fueling genocide. In spring 2025 Board of Trustees Chair Cynthia Archer revealed during an Endowment Education Session that Bryn Mawr College invests about $5 million dollars in Israeli technology.

Current students and alumnae/i alike hold financial power. Therefore, we ask you to commit to withholding current or potential donations to the college until the following demands are met:

We demand that Bryn Mawr College provides the student body with transparent information surrounding their investments, including their ESG and DEI policies, with the purpose of total divestment from the Israeli apartheid state and any institutions that uphold it. We demand that students, in their endeavor to hold the college accountable to human rights standards and as a matter of course, be treated in ways that prioritize their safety and autonomy.

It's time to divest!
