Unite Indian Women for a Nationwide Protest Against Crimes on Women!

The Issue

He/They did it to Nirbhaya, and now even to the dutiful medical student at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata!

Even Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik faced sexual harassment like most of us who face it all the time!

Our girls are not safe at any point of time!

Sexual harassment, rape, gangrape and murder! India's glory is at stake!

I am just one of the countless women in India who have faced harassment and intimidation. However, the tragic rape and murder of a medical student at RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata has pushed us to a breaking point. Silence is no longer an option.

On behalf of all Indian women, we call for a nationwide protest, a daylong strike to honor the fallen and demand change. We will halt work for one day, not to disrupt, but to highlight the urgency of our plight.

This protest is expected to shed light on the enormity of gender violence, especially against women performing their duties. As per the National Crime Records Bureau, 1 rape takes place every 16 minutes in India.  There has been a 4% increase in crimes on women in 2022 over 2021. This ghastly figure stands at 4,45,256 (IPC + SLL).

Against the most recent gruesome act on a dutiful medical student, we urgently need the backing of women from all professions, especially those in legal, Law & Order, and from Women's and Human Rights Commissions. Your expertise and influence can guide us in this fight for our rights.

Our goal is not merely to protest, but to bring about impactful legislative changes aimed at revamping our flawed system. We want to establish a future where our daughters, sisters, and mothers can live freely, without the looming threat of violence.

Let's make this protest a beacon of hope and change, highlighting an issue that has been ignored for far too long. Sign this petition and join the fight for justice and equality.
