Unite Against Hate: Demand Swift Action from Paso Robles Joint Unified School District

The Issue

A disturbing trend of hate crimes has emerged, jeopardizing the safety of students and community members and we demand swift action!

In just the last couple of weeks, a Paso Robles High School bathroom was vandalized with racial slurs and vulgarities, the high prevalence of the use of the N-word by students prompted a press release from Superintendent Loftus, an incumbent Trustee’s campaign sign was vandalized with a defaced American flag, and in very memorable recent history, LGBTQ+ students were targeted when a student committed an unspeakably disgusting crime using a pride flag at Paso Robles High School, making national headlines.

We denounce ALL hate crimes and demand that Paso Robles Joint Unified School District take these incidents seriously by implementing a preventative plan of action that will encourage inclusion and respect for ALL students and community members in order to make our school district a safe and desirable place for students to obtain a high-quality education.

Respectfully signed,

Netta Perkins & Tracy Dauterman
