We as the current registered students of the University of South Africa (UNISA) feel that we have not been taken into account when a decision was taken in light of our academic year. We wish for the University to communicate its plans clearly to the students concerned, that is, the final year students as well as the final semester students. The University has since sent out emailed communication, commenting on the decision it has taken according to the Minister of Higher education and training in regards to the current academic year and the changes thereof. The university has found it fit to also without engaging with the students nor its representatives to move our semester examination period to the end of the 2021,meaning a student left with 8 or 10 modules, he/she will be writing all those modules in that period of October /November 2021.The insensitive act taken by the the university in addressing such issues for both final semester and final year students shows the lack of consideration to the academic difficulty that students will be finding themselves in. Therefore, we would like for the university to halt these proceedings and engage students concerned before it gets out of hand
