Unions should call a NATIONAL DEMONSTRATION to stop Tories’ anti-strike law!

The Issue

To escalate the fight against the Tories’ new assault on the right to strike, with their proposed minimum service law, we need a national demonstration.

We call for the the trade union movement to organise a proper national demonstration to demand withdrawal of the minimum service law, in London, on a Saturday – with a serious attempt to mobilise at least tens of thousands.

Please consider putting a model motion calling for a demo to your union or other organisation. Model motion here: https://freeourunions.wordpress.com/2023/01/13/discussion-unions-must-call-national-demo-against-new-anti-strike-laws

With the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill, the Tories are trying to ban all-out strikes in health, fire and rescue, education, transport, nuclear decommissioning and border forces – and to give the government and employers the right to dictate to workers and unions what is permitted on strike days. The government wants to authorise employers to do what currently not even a UK court can do.

For more detailed explanations of the proposed law and why it must be fought see (along with all the existing anti-strike laws):
