Loss of strawberries and milk shakes.........

The Issue

Zoning application  Z2019000234 //  Lennar Corp. and Charles Burr  //  More farm- land growing strawberries and offering milk shakes is lost to residential construction.

Location: NW corner of SW 216th St. and SW 127th Ave,  30 acres.

We sign this petition in opposition of the application by Lennar requesting Community Council 14 approve their application to build nearly 200 homes. Lennar's 3 signs are already posted on the property saying new homes and subdivision are coming. But...it hasn't even gone to the Community Council 14 for their approval of the application or maybe denial. Over confident, maybe???

Most of the 180 "planned" homes are on small 5,000 Sq.Ft. lots. The surrounding land uses are larger agricultural parcels along with 15,000 Sq.Ft. lots with estate homes. But, county zoning does allow a maximum of 300 homes. A covenant has been provided restricting the maximum yet it's nothing more than ink on paper.

Community Council 14 meets this Thursday, Oct 15th at 6 PM and this is the way you can help, sign this petition and also sign up to speak in the virtual Council meeting. Thank you for signing the petition to let the Council and Commissioners know how you feel. Please virtually attend the Community Council 14 meeting to be held Thursday, October 15th at 6 P.M. Support is so very important to the cause, without it, if you think "now" is bad it will spiral into a real dislike of living in our county where we are overpopulated, overbuilt with a lack of much needed infrastructure.
