Unakoti for World Heritage Site

Unakoti for World Heritage Site
The Issue
Unakoti or "one less than a crore (10 million)" is a 7th-century artifact built out of rock carvings on the surrounding hills. It depicts Hindu gods and goddesses and has been a pilgrimage stop of the Shaivites or Saivas (the worshippers of the Hindu god of destruction, Shiva). Located around 178 km away from the capital city Agartala, the exquisite rock carvings are nestled within the surrounding hills and mountains. This unique art form has been a deep secret in the diverse landscape of northeast India. It is time that we sign a petition to the Government of Tripura, Archeological Survey of India (ASI) so as to put this marvelous creation of the ancient Indians on the world map as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and hereby continue its preservation for future generations to relish its beauty, history, and lures.
-Thank you.
