Since 4th April 2019, 10 days before the UN-Sponsored National Conference was to be held in the Libyan city of Ghadames, Renegade General Khalifa Haftar, commander of the so-called ‘Libyan National Army’ militia launched a military aggression against the capital Tripoli in order to topple the internationally recognised government of national accord (GNA).

Khalifa Haftar ordered this invasion of the capital with his forces having committed countless crimes of aggression and war crimes during their year-long siege of Tripoli, which has been well documented by various Human Rights Groups as well as the UNSMIL.

Through this petition, the Libyan people are expressing their support & request for the UN Security Council & the ICC to proceed with indicting Khalifa Haftar for crimes of aggression and war crimes and issuing a warrant for his arrest.
