« UN HOMME INNOCENT CROUPIT EN PRISON DEPUIS 21 ANS !! AIDEZ-NOUS A LIBÉRER TERRY !!! »
Le problème
(In French and English)
Stricklin, 310 Neb. 478, 491, 967 N.W.2d 130 (2021), cert. denied, 142 S. Ct. 2743, 212 L. Ed. 2d 799 (2022) ""

☆ This petition aims to rally the world to support Mr. Terry SELLERS, a man currently incarcerated at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. According to his family, organizations and his legal team, Mr. SELLERS was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes he did not commit 21 years ago.
His female co-defendant confessed to the crimes to a fellow inmate, to the police, and also during the trial – yet she has been RELEASED on parole since 2023 !!!
Where is the justice in this inconsistency ??!!
Despite the confession and the overwhelming evidence in HER favor (the co-defendant), Mr. SELLERS remains locked away. He has already spent HALF OF HIS LIFE behind bars for crimes he did not commit !
The U.S. judicial system is notoriously complex, but if it were truly "fair and just," Mr. SELLERS would have been released years ago. This case is a stark reminder that even the most basic principles of justice can fail, and it is crucial that this miscarriage of justice be rectified NOW.
It is urgent that the courts re-examine the case and correct the mistakes that have led to this grave injustice.
☆ The evidence supporting Mr. SELLERS has been ignored for far too long, and his case deserves a thorough and impartial review.
"" The prejudice from his counsel’s failure to secure this testimony is shown by the Supplementary Police Report that defendant discovered around July-September 2020 (he affirms in his accompanying Affidavit). Before discovering the Supplementary Police Report, defendant did not know that the police (per Officer Milone) had spoken with Alexander only weeks after the events in question, and that Ms. Alexander had made statements to the police that exculpated defendant for Mr. Ford’s killing. As defendant affirmed in his August 26, 2021 pro se Motion, the report shows that Ms. Alexander “was a witness that would have established an alibi for Defendant, that he (Terry) was in the motel room with her when the crimes in question were committed.” Ms. Alexander affirmed that she was in the motel room with defendant during the early morning hours of February 25 – the time during which Mr. Ford was killed. Officer Milone specifically questioned Ms. Alexander as to whether defendant left the motel room during the night, and Ms. Alexander replied, "she did not believe he had left the room because when she woke up Sellers was still lying next to her.
Jamme Alexander’s testimony, as reflected in the Supplementary Police Report and had defendant’s trial counsel secured the statements for trial, would have supported an alibi defense with regard to Mr. Ford’s killing, State v. Stricklin, 310 Neb. 478, 491, 967 N.W.2d 130 (2021), cert. denied, 142 S. Ct. 2743, 212 L. Ed. 2d 799 (2022) ""
● One of the primary EVIDENCE and TESTIMONY that was not presented at TRIAL !!!!!!
NOW, WE CALL ON THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES TO CONDUCT A FULL AND FAIR INVESTIGATION TO PROVE HIS INNOCENCE. Every signature counts in supporting this cause, and we need YOUR HELP.
By raising your voice for TERRY and his family, you can help him finally receive the justice he rightfully deserves — the very justice the Nebraska criminal justice system has failed to deliver, or perhaps simply refused to deliver.

■ Terry speaks...
Hey, what’s popping everyone? My name is Terry Sellers. I’ve been incarcerated since I was 22, serving a life sentence for two crimes I didn’t commit. Growing up into a man in here hasn’t been easy, but one thing for sure is I never gave up, and I chose to be a better me.
When I first got here, I had never really been in prison, well, a few times to visit my pops or my uncles, but nothing like this. Everything is a whole different world. The first day, the guys put me on a basketball team, even though I wasn’t from either city. They just heard I had game, and the pressure was huge from day one. An older brother told me, “Don’t get caught up in prison life. Go to the law library, and in two or three years, you’ll be back home.” I didn’t have much guidance, so I did what I could to keep moving forward, but his words stayed with me.
Two appeals denied, ten years flew by, and I didn’t expect my life to change so much. While making license plates at work, I picked up the Quran for the first time, and ten months later, I accepted Islam. People saw a huge change in me: I stopped using and doing other forbidden activities. I was on a path of healing, which is a long road. My goal is simple: to be better for myself, set a positive example, and help others.
I try to guide younger guys and new inmates, be a model, a leader, someone many never had growing up. Life in here is unstable. People get moved constantly, from one cell to another, sometimes losing connections because they don’t see each other for a long time. Programs, whether educational or psychological, are limited. Even seeing a psychologist or doctor takes forever, which makes it harder to grow mentally and emotionally. You feel alone sometimes, even while a lot of people are just trying to rebuild and figure themselves out.
School has been a real chance for me. Southwest Community College gave me the opportunity to take classes and show that it’s possible to progress even in prison. Today, I have over 50 certifications and I just started my first semester of business paralegal class.
These achievements show that even with obstacles, you can reinvent yourself and inspire others.
There’s a lot of pain and misery in here, like being surrounded by the walking dead in a sense. But I’ve strengthened my faith and my vision. Every day is an opportunity to grow, and I’m ready for the fight.
