Request for Furlough Leave to include Salespeople’s Commissions within 80% payment offer.

By signing this petition you will help ALL salespeople across ALL industries who rely on their sales Commission and their families many of which are young families just starting out.
The Independent Motor Dealers Association (The IMDA) requests the UK Government to reconsider their exclusion of Salespeople’s Commissions within the 80% payment offer if that salesperson is placed on Furlough Leave during the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic.
Within the UK Automotive Industry it is commonplace like many other industries for Salespeople to be paid a small Salary (sometimes around £12,000 pa) and a larger Commission based on achievement of a sales target which is now impossible to achieve due to the forced closure of Car Showrooms under the Government forced closure policy.
Please sign this petition to help these families of all the hard working Salespeople out there in the UK without which no sales would take place.
This petition is not Automotive Industry specific but started to make a difference for all salespeople across all Industries that have been affected by lockdown during this Pandemic.
We feel that a fair calculation could be based on the last 3 months wages slips to gain an average and base the 80% Furlough Leave payment on that.
Thank you for taking the time to read this plea and hopefully we will receive the 100,000 signatures required for the UK Government/Parliament to reconsider the inclusion of Commission for those Salespeople placed on Furlough Leave
