The summer is a great time to spend time with your family and friends in beautiful weather. Our summer holidays are only a mere 6 weeks. That is around 4-5 weeks shorter than in the USA. I understand that we have longer Easter and Christmas holidays, but I don’t understand why we need those if the weather isn’t any good in those periods of time usually. I don’t think we need half terms with our school days shorter than most - and a longer summer holiday could make up for those shorter Easter and Christmas holidays, and no half term.
