The government must take action now to ensure that controls are put in place to prevent, discourage and avoid coronavirus outbreak profiteering. 

In society the most vulnerable are put at risk when companies and corporations overcharge and profiteer off of essential products required to keep us all safe. No one should have to choose between dinner tonight or a face mask for their or our collective safety.

There is no clear legislation and no pricing controls around essential products which must be reviewed to ensure suitable measures are implemented and help avoid any further financial burdens on all members of society at a time when we are all encouraged to stay safe and alert.

We need to ensure that essential products are able to be provided where necessary without the worry of companies and corporations profiteering from essential products required to protect us all.

There has been talk about taking action in this regard but nothing has been reviewed or any meaningful action taken by the government to date, this should be a priority to avoid further stresses and burdens on all members of society and help us all overcome this pandemic by setting out guidlines and measures that will also be useful for any future pandemics that may arise.
