Too much food waste consists of non-recyclable plastics and mixed materials which end up in land-fills - or even worse in the sea. Plastics secrete harmful chemicals into the ground and water over time and take hundreds of years to decompose. It’s incredible that the supermarkets and other manufacturers are still being allowed to contribute to this very obvious environmental problem... to make money to line the pockets of multi-millionaire / billionaire corporate moguls who enjoy comfortable lives away from the global mess they are facilitating.
