I want to get the use of Bee Venom banned. Honey bees are being exploited and killed in their use for alternative therapies. Apitoxin, known as honey bee venom, is a colourless liquid produced from the bees stinger which the beauty industry and alternative therapy industry are claiming helps with anti-aging, nerve pain and other conditions, however there is no scientific evidence to support these uses.

The Bees are captured and then placed on the skin at the affected area. The bee stings on contact leaving its stinger and its abdominal sack attached and then subsequently dies a painful death.

The bee venom is claimed to have an anti-inflammatory effect which lasts up to 12 hours resulting in people returning for more treatments and/or harvesting their own bees to administer the treatment themselves.

Not only is this unethical and exploitation of bees; bees are already under threat and are in decline. We need our bees for the pollination of crops. Without them our survival is under threat.
