Tired, terrified and heavily pregnant sows are being transported for slaughter. Many are giving birth during this harrowing final journey. For many piglets their initial experience of this world is lying on the floor of a vehicle or falling through slats onto the road below. In the interests of animal welfare this atrocity should no longer be allowed to happen.
