In 2019 the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women #CEDAW recommended that the UK Government "Take effective measures to ensure that the increase in the State pension age from 60 to 66 does not have a discriminatory impact on Women born in the 1950s." "When UK gov ratified CEDAW it promised to dismantle or refrain from enacting laws or measures that negatively impacted on the lives of women as compared to men" ( CEDAW Expert Witness to #BackTo60 Judicial Review).Therefore, we the undersigned call upon the Government to provide 1950's Women whose by State Pension Age was deferred with a financial remedy via eg a CEDAW Temporary Special Measure.
