STOP the use of clear single-use bags in airport security

I have just watched people receive single-use sealable bags at the airport security this morning and it made me feel ashamed.
What happened to making people buy them? What about these bags in the war to stop plastic pollution from our oceans? What’s to say that every single traveller around the world uses a single-use sealable bag in their hand luggage for liquids and then doesn’t recycle it on holiday - because they won’t care because ‘they’re on holiday’. Or even keep it for their return journey and recycle it when they're home! They just won't because it's just another 'thing' to carry or something else to think about.
I want governments and all airport authorities to consider this in the fight against plastic pollution. Can alternative materials be used? Can a regulation be amended to stop plastic being used in this way?
Can something be done - I think so!
