This International Day of Education ie 24th January Friday, assess the taboos and instances of harassment that still hinder education for many students in India. Chhaap, a student theatre group, will be performing a powerful nukkad naatak in Infocity, Gandhinagar to highlight the same. Let's extend our support and voice for India’s students and teachers, and their right to safe environment for education.

Do catch Chhaap's thought-provoking nukkad naatak here :
Venue : Infocity, Gandhinagar
When : 8 PM IST, 24th January, Friday

Those of you unable to watch the nukkad naatak in person can follow Right To Safe Education's handle where we shall be posting updates. We shall livestream the event as well.

Thank you so much for your support thus far. Hope to see some of you there!

More news related to the petition :
Our petition achieved its ask when the University Grants Commission secretary Rajnish Jain directed the vice-chancellors of all affiliated Indian universities and colleges to submit an elaborate ICC report on cases of sexual harassment for the period of April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019, along with the ICC details, by July 31, 2019, as per news reports.

However, despite this, no data has been released on how many universities actually submitted this report, and some universities reportedly continue to remain apathetic to cases of harassment and abuse. We hope to get a response to our RTI application to be able to shed more light on this, and finally, hopefully, full-heartedly declare this petition a victory. Stay tuned!
