UDOT's Public Relations representatives have a process of meetings to inform the public and allow them to comment and air their concerns over proposed changes. It all sounds very fair and very good. I've been told by others that it is just a formality and it is not a way we can affect or change UDOT's already made decisions. I had an experience this past week where two very kind UDOT employees told me these decisions have been made, and showed me an area near me where Hobbs Creek is going to change in 2019 and that I need to accept it. I have had experience over 3 years with both these employees and also UDOT's Public Relations people. I have learned that I can only trust the words of the employees. Since work has NOT yet begun it is still possible to apply outside UDOT pressure. I feel a strong response from our Hobbs Creek Drive and near by residents can stop our Hobbs Creek Drive section of the new UDOT plan for US-89 that will turn our street into a one way off and on ramp for SR-193 and US-89. We need your help to send e-mails, make calls or send letters to the leaders listed below and to media people you may know. Consider creative ways such as writing OPT-Editorials in the papers etc. If we show enough outrage on the state level to attract attention and pressure on UDOT to explain why they are spending millions on a street they just newly designed and spent millions on completing only about a year ago, we can still win!
