Dear supporters,
Recent weeks have yielded interesting developments and newfound momentum for our petition, and we wanted to share some key highlights with you.
We want to begin by highlighting the status of our petition, which recently crossed 7,000 signatures! This showcases the groundswell of public support for our petition and recognition of the fact that the status quo must change, with so many disability workers struggling throughout Alberta. We want to especially thank everyone who has signed and shared their experiences regarding how the wage crisis is impacting them; it’s your dedication that has made surpassing this milestone possible.
This hard work has also led to our movement receiving increasingly significant media attention. Here are a few recent pieces that we’d like to point out, if you haven’t come across them already:

All of this is truly creating newfound momentum for our petition, with MLAs from all parties more aware than ever that something must be done to address the wage crisis. Premier Danielle Smith herself even mentioned this in a Nov. 9 letter to Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services Jeremy Nixon, and in recent weeks, petition supporters mailed hundreds of letters to MLAs, calling upon them to take action.
Although we’re making progress and changing the conversation, our work isn’t done yet. So let’s keep up the pressure!
Thank you for all that you do. We look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Gratefully,
Alberta Disability Workers In Action (ADAIA)
